Four steps in career planning:
 
Step 1:  Learn About Yourself
              Know and understand your interests, skills, values and personality type. We offer
             the three following assessments that can aid your self-evaluation process.
 
              Strong Interest Inventory Assessment
                   
              The most respected and widely used career planning instrument in the world, this
              assessment will allow you to explore the world of work. A career counselor will
              help you interpret and understand the results.

              This assessment helps you to understand your personality type and can help 
              identify possible career options.

              Top achievers build their academic, personal lives, and careers on their talents.
              The strengths-based approach allows you to discover and develop your talents to
              be all God created you to be.
             
Step 2:  Gain Experience
 
              Get involved in extra-curricular activities
              Obtain an internship or other work experience
              Sharpen computer, teamwork and communication skills
 
Step 3:  Prepare Your Self-Marketing Package
 
              Write a resume and develop cover letters
              Practice interviewing skills
              Locate people to serve as references
 
Step 4:   Implement a Job Search or Graduate School Plan
  
               Research job openings or graduate schools
               Network with contacts in your chosen field
               Conduct informational interviews
               Apply for job openings or graduate schools of interest
